General
Ships were the first means of transportation used by mankind and have been
improved gradually over 5000 years.
ISOICO is proud of its history of more than 12 years, contributing to the
realization of modern shipbuilding through its various types of vessels. We at
ISOICO shall continue our effort, ceaselessly in this field.
ISOICO as one of the leading shipbuilding company in the Middle East is
confident of its contribution in offering excellent ships to customers.
ISOICO shipyard located at straight of Hormoz (Persian Gulf), 37 km west of
Bandar Abbas city has one of the most up to date shipbuilding facilities. At
this shipyard, giant vessels can be constructed continuously and the
fabrication, subassembly, block-assembly and outfitting shops are arranged in
unique layout. Its significant future is the wide scale provision of the latest
facilities and numerically controlled devices for automation and mechanization,
to promote higher efficiency and products of high quality.
ISOICO, with the facilities, equipment and the areas has become the shipbuilder
capable of constructing any kind of ship, ranging from special purpose boats to
very large vessels. In addition, ISOICO is constructing two Dry Docks, which
after completing this development as project, make it available for repair and
constructing of LNG and VLCC vessels.
ISOICO shipyard is capable of constructing any type of vessel up to about 4 x
80,000 DWT per year on its existing building berths mainly bulk carrier,
containership and oil product carrier using advance technology, which after
accomplishing the development in process (i.e. two Dry Docks) the constructing
capability will increase for the vessel up to about 2 x 300,000 DWT VLCC or 2 x
140,000 m3 LNG carrier per year in addition to the existing capacity.
Technical Development
ISOICO does its utmost to provide the most modern vessels
through technical development.

ISOICO constantly seeking for develop
optimum hull form with the experimental model basin at European towing test
laboratory.
Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing
(CAD/CAM)
ISOICO has developed a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided
Manufacturing) system, which brought new advance, higher efficiency and accuracy
in the
shipbuilding process from Basic Design to assembly and outfitting resulting in
improvement
in quality.

All engineering disciplines in ISOICO utilize software systems in the
performance of their
work. The level of sophistication employed is largely dependent upon the type of
analysis
undertaken.
Many of the packages available in-house are proprietary applications for which
full support
licenses are held, and these are complemented by a number of in-house
applications. Each
discipline is listed below with a brief description of its key software tools.
ISOICO Shipbuilding Group has two separated design offices for basic design
located in the head office and detail design and workshop drawing located in the yard. The
followings are
the most important softwares which are used in each design office.
Basic Design Office
The basic design office is equipped with various types of software (
for EX Naval Architect calculations and modelling ,Autoship package is the main
tool and there is a worldwide study on the selection of the best software to buy
in near future ;the options are NAPA ,TRIBON basic design module and FORAN).
1) Naval Architect software
The most important ship design general software
consisting of modules for Initial Design, Basic Design and Design Manager.
2) Material handling Software
MARS System is using in ISOICO for material handling in
the shipyard. Basic design office is responsible for definition of all materials
,hierarchical relations between them ,project definition and purchase order
specification preparation for major equipment and material .these information
will be used and controlled in other departments such as procurement, financial
, engineering , stock yard, producing ,planning , material handling , QC and
production.
3) Structural Analysis
Finite element structural analysis softwares used for
analysing of structures against working loads including: SAP90, ANSYS, NISA

The shipyard workshops are spread in area of 72279 m2 extent.
All together 18 shops give necessary services to the new buildings and repair
yards.
